Aside from the physical and mental preparation a fighter goes through leading up to a fight, another major factor in preparation is being on weight for the fight. It is no secret that fighters cut weight to be under their respective weight classes with making more dramatic efforts to do so than others. Although a fighter may be able to cut 20 pounds and rebound back up to that same weight the next day it is often shown later in the fight how much the effort in cutting the weight affected their performance. Monday morning and back to work with an early morning training session, surprisingly, considering the great weekend that Crash MMA put on for us. The Crash MMA team had a great concept creating an adventure for fans to truly enjoy the UFC experience. At UFC 91 in Las Vegas I got that opportunity, and it was definitely an experience. First of, going to ANY live MMA event is a great experience for a new or old fan of the sport, but going to Las Vegas to watch a live UFC event with the headline of Randy Couture and Brock Lesner is even more crazy.
