For WEC veteran Chris Horodecki, his life is a game of balances.
While ”The Polish Hammer” is still at the tender age of 23 and just a few years removed from a world filled with Ninja Turtles and the latest edition of Pokemon cards, his life is now full of fiscal responsibilities that most at a more ”mature” age may not even be accustomed to. He got a fast start out of those pre-pubescent years when he debuted as a professional Mixed Martial Artist when he was just 17-years-old and now remains one of the central figures of the popular Adrenaline Training Center in his hometown of London, Ontario, Canada, where he continues to build the legacy that his late, great trainer Shawn Tompkins has left behind.

The MMA world got a peek at what’s to come this fall on the Ultimate Fighter 14 when the long-running reality show takes to the Spike TV airwaves for the final time thanks to the network releasing a list of 32 competitors who all share the end goal of becoming the NEXT Ultimate Fighter.
First UFC lightweight champion. First man to blemish the career of future Hall of Famer B.J. Penn, and a man who defended his crown twice against top flight competition, cementing a legacy of accomplishment that harkens back to the early days of mixed martial arts–making him a pioneer of the sport.
So, with all of these accolades in mind, why does Jens Pulver still want to fight?
With over 12-years experience as a professional, ”Lil’ Evil” has finally figured it out.
“I found the answer and it came to me yesterday, I think my wife tagged it—the reason why I keep fighting is because I want to make sure that I have no regrets”, said the prolific fighter, who this Saturday steps into the cage for 31st time. Read More

Many pro fighters started their athletic career in other sports and eventually were drawn to MMA. Jared Hamman was no exception. He will take on CB Dollaway this Sunday night on the UFC on Versus card in Milwaukee, part of what has become an action packed month for MMA. MMATraining.com caught up with Hamman and asked him how he got his start in competitive sports and how it helped him prepare for the grind of being a pro fighter.
“I played defensive end and linebacker in college. I coached for about four years after I graduated.” When asked about his athletic start.
Hamman says that football not only harnesses your physical gifts, but also prepares you for the learning process that comes with MMA Training.
“I have my overall athletic ability from just playing sports and what not but I think the coach-ability factor is what has helped the most from football.”
Football players are some of the best athletes in the world and it is no wonder someone with a strong football background would have success in MMA. Some fighters come strictly from a martial arts background and some had a base in another sport and learned MMA later. For Hamman, it was football that really prepared him for the grind that is MMA. His football training plus the coach ability factor has given him some early success in fighting.
Hamman is 12-3 overall and will look to even his record in the UFC to 2-2 Sunday night.

Jorge Rivera will take on Constantinos Philippou at UFC 133 this weekend in Philadelphia after Alessio Sakara had to once again withdraw with injury. MMATraining.com caught up with Rivera this week in Philadelphia and asked him how this fight came together and how their styles match up.
“Pretty similar. You know, they gave me a list with a bunch of other names. I asked my team what they thought. We Googled them, saw what they had on YouTube, and out of all of those – I mean Philippou is a good boxer, he’s got powerful hand, and I thought, you know, he’s the one I want.”

It’s no secret that recent seasons of “The Ultimate Fighter” have been lacking something. While it would be intriguing to pit Kimbo Slice against the welterweights of season twelve of TUF, the UFC is not in the business of freak shows, are maintaining ratings.
A quick fix was to inject Brock Lesnar, the organizations former heavyweight champion and largest pay-per-view draw, into the mix of the TUF series, even he couldn’t help the steady decline. Not since the tenth installment of TUF have ratings–which featured an all heavyweight cast featuring the aforementioned Slice along with former champs Quinton ”Rampage” Jackson and arch rival Rashad Evans–has the show peaked the interest of most fans, which is evidence through the marginal numbers it’s pulled since than, with season 13 displaying a mediocre million plus in viewers, with an steady decline nearly every episode after the initial debut, which scored a 1.5–a slip compared to seasons prior.
