“Cyborg” slated for Strikeforce return after signing new deal

After exploring the possibility of fighting in Brazil or a run in WWE, the most explosive female in Mixed Martial Arts has re-signed with Strikeforce and expects to fight soon after sitting out for the past year while trying to hammer out a new contract with the organization.
Cris “Cyborg” Santos’ management revealed the news through an announcement on MMARants.
According to an official statement from her representatives, “Cris is ecstatic to be staying under the Zuffa umbrella for another year. She would like to thank Strikeforce and Zuffa for the opportunity to prove she is the best 145 lbs woman in the world. Cris has been training and is ready to step back into the cage to defend her Strikeforce belt.”
“Cyborg” burst onto the scene three years ago as part of EliteXC and hasn’t lost since while blowing through her competition including wins over Shayna Baszler, Gina Carano, and Marloes Coenen. However, she hasn’t fought since beating Jan Finney via TKO at “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Werdum” in June 2010.
The dynamic 26-year old is 10-1 in her career with eight strike-based stoppages and hasn’t lost since her MMA debut in 2005.
