Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir Set for UFC 98

Brock Lesnar will take on Frank Mir at UFC 98at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas May 23rd for the UFC Heavyweight Title of the world. This was confirmed today with Brock Lesnar’s facebook page.

Lesnar is coming off a second round TKO win over former champion Randy Couture at UFC 91. That fight took place November 15th at the MGM.

Mir is coming an impressive win over former UFC interim champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 92 December 27th, when he became the first man ever to stop Nogueira by strikes.

These two fought in February of 2008 in Lesnar’s UFC debut and Mir left victorious with a first round submission win.

Also rumoured for this card is the long awaited grudge match between Matt Hughes and Matt Serra.

Shane Carwin, who won the interim heavyweight championship by defeating Frank Mir at UFC 111, will face current heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar. The two were originally set to face each other at UFC 106, before Shane Carwin won the interim heavyweight championship, but Brock Lesnar pulled out of the fight due to an illness that kept him from training.
