Chael Sonnen says he’s done dealing with Anderson Silva

Former UFC middleweight contender Chael Sonnen has been chasing a rematch with champion Anderson Silva for several months. Now it appears Sonnen is tired of the pursuit.
Sonnen will face Mark Munoz on January 28 in the co-main event of UFC on FOX: Davis vs. Evans is from Chicago, Illinois, and, according to UFC President Dana White, the winner would receive the next shot at “The Spider.” However, Sonnen, seems to want nothing to do with Silva…at least that’s what he is saying. The colorful 185er has made a career out of saying one thing before actually doing the complete opposite.
“I’m done with that guy,” said Sonnen while appearing on Off the Record with Michael Landsberg. “He and I have no business. This guy is cold product, man, he’s like jheri curls and Pepsi Clear. He’s yesterday’s news. He’s so far over the hill and past his prime, it’s not worth talking about.”
Instead, Sonnen made remarks about wanting to take the #1 contender spot he’d earn by beating Munoz and challenge light heavyweight champ Jon Jones, heavyweight title-holder Junior dos Santos, or even longtime welterweight king Georges St. Pierre.
“I’m going for a championship match,” Sonnen concluded. “Anderson Silva is no more the champion than the man on the moon and trying to pretend he is is a waste of my breath. Jon Jones is a real man that’ll accept challenge.”

MMATraining Take: I am guessing Sonnen is just trying to get under the skin of Silva once again. He seems to do this about every other interview, and this week it is ripping into Silva. There is no man Sonnen wants to defeat more than Silva.
