Five TUF 14 Finale fighters face six-month medical suspensions

Five of the men who took to the Octagon this past Saturday night at the Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale could be stuck on the sidelines until summer depending on how they heal up from injuries sustained during the evening of action with the group including TUF 14 coach Jason Miller and featherweight tournament winner Diego Brandao.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission released a list of medical suspensions stemming from the event. Thirteen fighters were affected by its contents with eight of them only out until early-to-mid January for cuts/swelling/precautionary reasons.

However, Brandao and Miller, as well as stand-outs Bryan Caraway and Louis Gaudinot, were not so fortunate and could all be out until June 3 without receiving a physician’s clearance for a smorgasbord of afflictions. While few specifics were listed other than the length of suspension, Miller was shown to have suffered a broken nose with the other three (as well as Stephen Bass) needing to undergo some x-rays to determine the actual extent of the damage.

Here is a complete list of TUF 14 Finale medical suspensions:

Dustin Pague – Suspended until 1/18/11 with no contact until 1/3/11 for precautionary reasons

MMATraining Take: I’m fairly positive most of the “June” crew will be back much sooner since it doesn’t sound like anything serious occurred. I’m especially happy to see Bermudez’s arm was not actually broken as some speculated was the case or else he obviously would have been out for an extended period of time.
