The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has released the rundown of medical suspensions pertaining to UFC’s stop in Houston this past weekend for UFC 136. Though no specifics were listed in terms of damage, a handful of fighters will miss an extended period of time including headliner Gray Maynard.
Maynard, who Frankie Edgar stopped via strikes in the fourth round of their fantastic main event, will be sidelined for sixty days meaning it’s possible he won’t fight again until February given the amount of time a full training camp requires.
Edgar also didn’t escape the ringside physicians’ attention and will be suspended until November 23. While the period will allow “The Answer” to face off with a giant drumstick on Thanksgiving Day, chances are he also won’t be taking to the Octagon again before the end of 2011.
Other competitors receiving notable vacations from their vocations were Leonard Garcia and Mike Massenzio, both out until November 23, and Eric Schafer who received a thirty day sentence.

MMATraining Take: Tough break for Maynard but at least it sounds like he should be back in time for the Super Bowl Weekend show. All in all not a bad list of suspensions since it looks like none of the fighters suffered any sort of break or significant injury.
