Hector Lombard draws Brian Stann for UFC debut

Two of the middleweight division’s most-feared strikers will meet on August 4 in Los Angeles as part of the UFC on FOX 4 lineup in the form of a bout between Hector Lombard-Brian Stann. Lombard, who signed with the UFC last week, is Bellator’s first and only 185-pound champion with more than half of his total wins by way of knockout while Stann has stopped three of his last four opponents with strikes including Chris Leben and Jorge Santiago.

The bout has been confirmed by UFC officials.

Lombard has racked up 31 wins in his career with only two losses including success in his last twenty outings. Seventeen of his victories have involved a TKO with 24 total finishes to his credit. Comparably, Stann is 12-4 with nine TKOs including a beatdown of Alessio Sakara earlier this month.

The only other fight scheduled thus far for UFC on FOX 4 features lightweights Joe Lauzon-Terry Etim mixing it up on the Los Angeles card.

MMATraining Take: This fight makes a ton of sense. Lombard deserves a contender given his championship credentials and overall record while Stann deserves a tough draw as well. Add in their enjoyment of stand-up and you’ve got what is almost certainly a bonus-winning bout on your hands.
