Last night marked one of the most memorable in the history of women’s MMA after a gutsy bout between Sarah Kaufman-Alexis Davis at Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey was followed up by another highly-entertaining affair involving bantamweights Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey.
While Kaufman’s clash with Davis resulted in a good deal of gore it paled in comparison to the gruesome finish in Rousey’s championship win over Tate where the Olympic judoka shredded the former title-holder’s arm in trademark fashion. The end came with less than a minute remaining in the opening round, marking the fifth time in five pro fights Rousey has stopped an opponent with an Armbar before the first frame’s expiration.
As a treat for fans, not to mention sadists, Strikeforce has since released a highlight reel from Rousey’s victory highlighting both Tate’s toughness and “Rowdy” Ronda’s propensity for pulverizing her adversary’s arms.
Watch the full video below and be warned as the finish is graphic:

MMATraining Take: Were there any doubt before regarding Rousey’s ability there certainly isn’t now, as Tate was fully prepared and still could do little to stop the unbeaten champion’s momentum. I honestly thought the fight was over in the first minute when Rousey procured her first Armbar but clearly it was only a matter of time, as Tate fought back valiantly only to be put in a similar position and stopped in devastating fashion.
