Kenny Florian says Silva-Sonnen II from Brazil will be “biggest fight in UFC history”

Even though it is still a few months away, the upcoming Anderson Silva-Chael Sonnen rematch for the UFC middleweight title has plenty to live up to. UFC President Dana White has said Silva-Sonnen II will be the biggest match in the history of the company, and now UFC Tonight analyst Kenny Florian is echoing those sentiments.

Silva and Sonnen will square off at UFC 147 on June 23 from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The match is expected to be the main event inside an 80,000-seat soccer stadium.

“Without a doubt, this will be the biggest fight in UFC history,” said Florian on this week’s episode of the show. “The arena in Brazil seats at least 80,000 people. That alone makes it the biggest event in UFC history. Silva, pound-for-pound the best fighter in the world, and the biggest trash-talker in the world, Sonnen. This is a huge event. I can’t wait to see it.”

So far, the bout has only been made official by the UFC, as Sonnen reported that he has yet to sign his name on the contract. The outspoken Oregonian said he has one demand that has yet to be satisfied for the bout though hasn’t revealed what it is.
