Former light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson has a date and location for what will likely be his final appearance inside the Octagon, as “Rampage” has been linked to an October 13 outing against Glover Teixeira at UFC 153 in Rio de Janeiro. Jackson expressed issues with the way he’d been treated by the UFC a few months back and is expected to test free agency after his tilt with Teixeira.
No other fights have been announced for the event.
News of Jackson-Teixeira was first reported by SporTV.
Teixeira, who has won sixteen straight, is 18-2 with sixteen finishes to his credit including an opening round submission of Kyle Kingsbury in the Brazilian’s UFC debut. He also holds past wins over Marvin Eastman, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, and Ricco Rodriguez.

MMATraining Take: This is an intriguing fight. On one hand, Teixeira isn’t well-known other than among hardcore fans and Jackson is fighting him in Brazil. On the other, stylistically “Rampage” is going to get tested instead of humped by a wrestler.
