The current season of the Ultimate Fighter features lightweights being coached by bantamweights, two of the organization’s smaller weight-classes. However, when it comes to the season finale it will be two tinier individuals stealing the spotlight as it appears 125-pounders Ian McCall-Demetrious Johnson will face off at the event to settle the score from their controversial meeting earlier this month.
Johnson and McCall fought in semifinal action of the UFC’s inaugural flyweight tournament, held at UFC on FX 2, where they wowed fans with their technique, tenacity, and tremendous ability. Unfortunately things were tained when an official added up the scorecards improperly and ruled the bout a win for Johnson instead of a Draw as it should have been. Had he done the simple calculation correctly it would have also resulted in a fourth “sudden victory” round between the two, the first in UFC history.
News of McCall’s June 1 meeting with Johnson was first reported by MMAInterviews.TV and has since been confirmed by other outlets.
The TUF 15 Finale will also feature the two remaining 155ers from the ongoing season facing off for a six-figure contract and the right to be called an Ultimate Fighter champion.

MMATraining Take: It’s nice to hear that McCall-Johnson are both healthy enough to fight again in a few months instead of either exiting their first encounter with an injury delaying things further. Their original offering was brilliant and I suspect this one will be too.
