Rick Story needs a win to get back on track as does his new opponent at UFC on FX 4. Story was scheduled to face Rich Attonito, but Attonito has been forced out with an injury. As a result, Papy Abedi will step in Attonito’s place on the June 22 card at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
UFC officials have confirmed the change. The lineup is highlighted by a lightweight match between former title-contender Gray Maynard and Clay Guida.
Story (13-5) was seen as a possible contender in the UFC’s welterweight division after defeating Johny Hendricks and Thiago Alves. However, back-to-back defeats at the hands of Charlie Brenneman and Martin Kampman has placed Story on the outside looking in.
Meanwhile, Abedi (8-2) entered the UFC with a perfect record but has dropped both of his bouts via first round submission, losing to Alves and James Head, the latter of which came in his native country of Sweden last month.

MMATraining: Story has gone from contender to pretender as fast as anyone in the UFC. It makes you really wonder what might have happened has he met Nate Marquardt as scheduled instead of Brenneman in a last-minute switch last year. That match seemed to really change Story and leaves him fighting for his career against Abedi, who is likely doing the same.
