Well-rounded Brit Ross Pearson will attempt to improve his record as a featherweight to 2-0 this summer when he faces Cub Swanson at UFC on FX 4. Pearson looked sharp in his divisional debut this past December at UFC 141, outpointing veteran submission-specialist Junior Assuncao in an exciting affair
The match-up was confirmed earlier today by the UFC.
Pearson experienced a good deal success at 155-pounds, beating the likes of Spencer Fisher and Dennis Siver, but struggled against Brazilian phenom Edson Barboza and subsequently decided his 5’8 frame was better suited for featherweight. The Ultimate Fighter 6 winner holds an overall record of 13-5 with five of his wins coming inside the Octagon.
The 28-year old Swanson made a name for himself in WEC with success over Mackens Semerzier, Micah Miller, and Hiroyuki Takaya. However, he fell to Ricardo Lamas in his Octagon unveiling this past November but bounced back in highlight-reel fashion, knocking out George Roop at UFC on FOX 2.
UFC on FX 4 is set for June 22 in Atlantic City, New Jersey and will be headlined by Clay Guida-Gray Maynard mixing it up in a five-round fight.

MMATraining Take: I like this match-up a lot. Both are in similar positions rankings-wise, so it should be competitive, plus each has an aggressive style meaning the bout should be entertaining as well.
