It has been fairly quiet on the Brock Lesnar front since the former UFC champion showed up cageside at UFC 146 to take in the evening’s main event between Frank Mir-Junior dos Santos. After the show UFC President Dana White confirmed he’d spoken to Lesnar about a possible comeback and was meeting with him over the weekend to discuss particulars.
While it remains unknown as to how their conversation actually went, if Lesnar does come back he already has an opponent itching to greet him inside the Octagon – Roy Nelson.
Fresh off his Knockout of the Night victory over Dave Herman, “Big Country” addressed the possibility of Lesnar’s return to the ring on this week’s episode of Inside MMA where his interest in a match-up with the WWE Superstar was clear.
“You know what? Brock coming back, if he does come back, I would love to welcome him back to the UFC. That was a fight that I actually called him out on ESPN, before. But if they actually make him come back, or if he actually thinks about coming back, he’ll probably come back to fight Frank Mir, because I think that’s the only fight he thinks he can win. But, you know what? I would love to have that fight with Brock,” said Nelson, also adding he was certain Lesnar would earn a title-shot with a single victory regardless of who he faced.

MMATraining Take: *IF* Lesnar comes back, and I’m not even remotely certain he will, I don’t think Lesnar would fight Nelson because he understands what sort of competitor the bellied brawler is. Nelson’s BJJ is good and he hits hard, both bad for Brock’s chances of success.
