When UFC light heavyweight Tito Ortiz made his UFC debut he was a a college wrestler who competed for free to maintain his amateur status. Fifteen years later he’s one of MMA’s biggest stars with an in-ring reputation built largely on the back of the very techniques he started out with as a grappler.
In this MMATraining Technique of the Day, Ortiz teaches his method of scoring a double-leg takedown as he’ll no doubt attempt to do at some point in his UFC 140 bout with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. As far as the devastating ground-and-pound sure to follow, well…we’ll save that for a future feature.
