Technique of the Day: Hook-to-Head Kick with Pat Barry
Posted by MMATraining.com Staff
If there’s one man in the UFC you never want to experience a kick from it’s almost certainly Pat Barry, an accomplished kickboxer with a pair of redwood trees in place of his thighs. The heavyweight’s next in-ring hurrah will come on Friday night when he faces Christian Morecraft at UFC on FX.
In this MMATraining Technique of the Day, Barry demonstrates one of his favorite attacks with the assistance of fellow UFC fighter Matt Mitrione where he fakes a left hook only to follow up with a head-kick. It may not be straight from the “Kickboxer’s Manual” but it’s definitely as effective a strike as one could hope to land in a fight.
