When this season of the Ultimate Fighter kicked off it appeared Urijah Faber’s squad was in severe trouble, going down 0-2 and watching some of their top talent fall to Dominick Cruz’s group of competitors. However, as the race is more of a marathon than a spring, Team Faber has since rallied with a trio of consecutive wins including last night’s showing from Joe Proctor.
Proctor took out Chris Tickle in the opening round of action after a heated start turned into a grappling match with the Massachusetts’ native ultimately locking in a Rear-Naked Choke. After the fight Faber picked next week’s match-up where John Cofer from his team will take on Vinc Pichel from Cruz’s.
Outside of the Octagon, teammates Mike Rio and Justin Lawrence got into it at practice based on a difference of opinion where intensity of training was concerned though Cruz enjoyed seeing the passion from each. Tickle was also featured heavily as fans might expect, being portrayed as a slacker in one instance where he showed up drunk for last week’s elimination fight and a genuinely good guy in another, making a turkey for Easter and talking about his family.

MMATraining Take: I enjoyed the episode, especially regarding the personality shown by a number of the guys in the house including Proctor and Tickle. There was also a nice exchange between Cruz and Faber, though unfortunately it was more of a “black cat” firework than anything spectacular.
