Nick Diaz outstrikes B.J Penn en route to decision win

After enduring a slew of injury-related issues UFC 137 arrived with an exciting a main event as could be asked for even if Georges St. Pierre was originally scheduled to headline the card.

Unless you’ve been stranded on a deserted island for the past few weeks you already know Stockton’s favorite son, Nick Diaz, scrapped with popular Hawaiian B.J. Penn. In the end his boxing ultimately came through to assist in picking up a decision win after peppering Penn with strikes in the second and third rounds of their classic clash.

After the bout’s conclusion Penn also claimed the fight would be his last, citing his family and the desire to not go home beat up while also being able to compete at the highest level. If he is indeed done he is certain to have a Hall of Fame nod in the near future after a storied career.

The card also included a supporting cast with names like Cheick Kongo, Mirko Filipovic, Tyson Griffin, Brandon Vera, and Donald Cerrone.
