UFC heavyweight Stefan Struve headlining September card in England

Fans in the United Kingdom will have an opportunity to see the UFC’s tallest heavyweight in action when the organization heads to Nottingham this fall, as 24-5 Stefan Struve will take on Stipe Miocic in the main event of a September 29 card. The match-up was confirmed earlier today by UFC officials. The show has not been given an official label though it will likely be

Struve was last seen submitting Lavar Johnson at UFC 146 to notch the 22nd finish of his career. The 6’11” Dutchman also holds past wins inside the Octagon against Dave Herman, Pat Barry, and Sean McCorkle.

Meanwhile, Miocic is 9-0 with seven TKOs and a recent knockout of previously unbeaten Shane del Rosario.

MMATraining Take: I feel for fans in England. The UFC, which once boasted the UK as a major territory, only stops there once a year and hasn’t delivered a star-studded card there in a long time. Struve-Miocic is a great fight – it just isn’t a main event.
