UFC Planning July 19th Event to compete with Affliction?

Sources close to the UFC have indicated that they are planning to put together a card July 19th in Las Vegas. Early reports indicate the UFC is planning a main event between Wanderlei Silva and Brandon Vera. It would be Vera’s first fight at LightHeavyweight. This would be an interesting concept by the UFC, as the first ever event scheduled by the Affliction clothing company Affliction: Banned is schedule that night as well.

If true, this is an obvious ploy by the UFC to take fans away from the Affliction card. The Affliction card is one of the most talent filled card in recent memory and has a main event of Tim Sylvia vs. Fedor Emelianenko.
