Vitor Belfort brings in Mike Dolce to help prepare for UFC 142 fight

Vitor Belfort is just days away from taking on Anthony Johnson in the co-main event of UFC 142: Aldo vs. Mendes. During his training camp leading up to the fight “The Phenom” has given MMA fans an up-close-and-personal account of his progress as part of a Road to UFC 142 docu-series.
In the latest episode, Belfort is shown with nutritionist Mike Dolce who is famous for having created The Dolce Diet. As a result of his work with Dolce Belfort looks to be in tip-top shape for the bout with Johnson.
“What I love about Mike Dolce diet is the flavor,” Belfort said. “It’s not a diet where you are in a bad mood (eating it) all day.”
UFC 142 takes place this Saturday night from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s HSBC Arena. Fans can catch Belfort-Johnson on the PPV portion starting at 10:00 PM EST.

MMATraining Take: I’m not sure what the W/L record is of guys Dolce has worked with but there’s clearly some substance behind his skill based on the amount of fighters who trust in it. Diet can be an extremely important part of fighters’ overall fitness so it certainly makes sense they’d want to not only eat right but eat food that keeps their minds on task as well.
