Entry Seven

Monday, September 8

Morning

This morning we all trained at the new gym again, which is an amazing place to be. We started out with a 3X5min warm up of sprints, drills and conditioning. After the warm up we got into caveman drilling for 3X5mins of tire flips, step ups on the stairs, core twists, box jumps and push ups on the tire. My legs felt a bit drained since my day off this week was spent getting the final touches on the new gym ready, it is too bad that was the case, but it needed to be done. We got into MMA sparring for 5X5min rounds with a fresh partner every round, which was great. I can really feel the improvement in my overall MMA game as I incorporting the takedowns well with my striking.

Evening

Tonight I came in refreshed and had a great training session. We started out with shadow boxing followed by 3X5mins of Thai Pad work will full intensity, I love doing Thai Pads because it mimics the intensity that you throw with in the fight. After Pad work we got into BJJ technique and 5X5mins of live grappling. It is great having Rowan teaching at our gym now, because the technique of a BJJ Black Belt is so much more in depth than the average instructor, we are lucky to have him around.


Tuesday, September 9

Back at Xtreme Couture today and coach Nick put us through the ringer. We started out with our 30 minute conditioning warm up and got into drilling from the clich and following with leg attacks with the finish. After our drilling we got into live schrimige of shark tank fighting for takedowns. We mixed in the striking today into the workout and did 3X5mins of MMA sparring and 2X5mins of fighting for the takedown from the cage wall, which is essential to drill for the fight. We finished the day off with 3X5mins of BJJ rounds.
