Dynamic UFC champion Jon Jones came one step closer to making history by fighting/beating his third straight former title-holder after successfully weighing in earlier this afternoon in relation to his headlining bout against Lyoto Machida at UFC 140. Specifically, “Bones” came in at 205 pounds on the dot while Machida clocked in a notch lower at 204 pounds.

All 22 of the headliners’ peers also stepped onto the scale though, unfortunately, not all were as successful as the two talented light heavyweights.

Seasoned veteran Dennis Hallman (of blue-Speedo fame) was an inexcusable 2.5 pounds over the lightweight limit of 156 for a preliminary pairing with undefeated Canadian John Makdessi. Hallman has been fined 20% of his purse for the infraction and will likely be fighting for his continued employment as a result.

MMATraining Take: I gave Hallman the highest likelihood of being cut with a loss at UFC 140. Consider it a guarantee now after coming in three pounds over.
