The match many people have been waiting a long time for is rapidly approaching, as UFC light heavyweight title-holder Jon Jones and ex-champion Rashad Evans are only weeks away from finally meeting inside the Octagon. The bout will be the main event at UFC 145 on April 21 from Atlanta, Georgia.

Along with Jones-Evans, Rory MacDonald and Che Mills are set to meet on the main card along things featuring a heavyweight war between Brendan Schaub and Ben Rothwell. However, the fight everyone is the most interested in his the battle between Jones and Evans. The two are former teammates under Greg Jackson, but that all ended when “Bones” was awarded the injured Evans’ title-shot, won the belt, and expressed his willingness to fight Evans if necessary.

“It’s my time to be champion for years to come,” said Jones after winning the belt from Mauricio “Shogun” Rua last year.

Evans believes Jones’ attitude of feeling unbeatable is one of his biggest issues, saying in an extended preview for the event, “That’s the secret. There is no one; anybody can lose on any given day.”

MMATraining Take: I personally cannot WAIT to see these two go at it! While I’d still favor Jones to win based on his reach and technical prowess there’s no question Evans is a gamer.
