The UFC asks quite a bit of its fan base. Whether you are shelling out hundreds of dollars to attend live events, or spending upwards of $50-plus on a PPV, being an MMA fan can be both time-consuming AND money-consuming.

After UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre was forced out of the main event of Saturday’s UFC 137 card due to injury, many quickly cast the show by the wayside and have already started planning for the upcoming UFC on FOX 1 card later in November.

The problem is, if you are one of those that are just planning on checking the results following the card, you are going to be kicking yourself Sunday morning.

With the likes of veterans BJ Penn and Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, the personalities of Nick Diaz and Roy Nelson, and the upcoming prospects like Matt Mitrione and Hatsu Hioki, UFC 137 is not a card to miss.

Sure, the lack of someone like St-Pierre makes it difficult to get excited, but that doesn’t mean fireworks will be duds. These fighters have heard all the negative comments, and you can darn well expect them to give it their all inside the Octagon.

The next two UFC events will be free of charge – well, at least free of charge from extra non-cable-bill payments – so go ahead and grab some buddies and pile in front of the television set and enjoy UFC 137. You might be surprised by what you see.
