Former UFC light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida is known for a number of his in-ring abilities but perhaps none more than his movement. Labeled as being one of MMA’s trickiest and “most elusive” fighters, Machida’s footwork is fairly unique and used in such a manner it creates multiple opportunities/angles that wouldn’t exist otherwise.

In this MMATraining Technique of the Day, Machida demonstrates some of his go-to moves while setting up strikes to unleash on opponents. Chances are, if he’s to beat divisional title-holder Jon Jones in less than two weeks at UFC 140 it will be in part due to something you witness on the video.
