The UFC has been working hard to make the middleweight division one of the deeper weight classes in the promotion. After adding Bellator middleweight champ Hector Lombard, the organization has grabbed another title-holder from a promotion.

Tom Watson, who wears the BAMMA belt, will grace the Octagon on September 29 at UFC on Fuel 5 in Nottingham, England. Watson’s deal with the British fight promotion expired this past March, and UFC officials confirmed on Thursday he has signed a deal with the company, meeting TUF alum Brad Tavares in his debut.

Watson holds a career mark of 15-4, including three consecutive victories. With victories over such notables as Murilo “Ninja” Rua, Jack Marshman and John Maguire, Watson brings an impressive resume to the 185-pound division.

MMATraining Take: “Kong” has knockout power, as evident by his seven career stoppage victories. At just 29, he still has plenty of room to grow, and the Greg Jackson-trained fighter could become a force in the division down the road.
