The UFC announced Wednesday night that two more fights have been added to UFC on FUEL TV 1, which is slated for February 15 from the Omaha, Nebraska CenturyLink Center. The main event of the night will be Diego Sanchez taking on Jake Ellenberger.

Now, fights between middleweights Aaron Simpson and Ronny Markes, along with featherweights Jonathan Brookins and Rani Yayha, have been added to the card, according to the UFC’s Twitter account.

Simpson (11-2) has won his last three fights, all by unanimous decision. He suffered his lone career losses to Mark Munoz and Chris Leben last year, but rebounded with wins over Mario Miranda, Brad Tavares, and Eric Schafer. Markes (12-1) made his UFC debut with a decision victory over Karlos Vemola this past August. He has won five straight since suffering his lone career defeat.

Brookins (12-4) was a winner on The Ultimate Fighter but is only 1-1 in the UFC thus far. He lost to Erik Koch in his return to 145 pounds this past September via decision, while Yayha (16-7) is just 1-3 in his last four, including a loss to #1 contender Chad Mendes at UFC 133, meaning both men definitely need the win to solidify their standing on the roster. Working in Yayha’s favor, he toppled former WEC featherweight champ Mike Brown back in January by decision.

The only other bout scheduled for UFC on FUEL TV 1 is a heavyweight war between Stefan Struve and Dave Herman.

MMATraining Take: Not bad for undercard offerings, especially in terms of Brookins/Yayha which has the potential to be non-stop action from start to finish. I’ll also be interested to see how Markes does at 185 after some decent success as a light heavyweight.
