The UFC loves to try and make Super Bowl weekend as big as ever, and this year, UFC 143 hopes to deliver with a bout featuring Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit.

Diaz-Condit will be for the UFC interim welterweight championship on February 4 from Las Vegas, and the two fighters will be profiled for the three-part UFC Primetime special beginning January 20 on FX. The show will be televised at 11:00 PM EST, with the remaining two episodes being broadcast on January 27 and February 3.

Diaz was originally set to face Georges St. Pierre for the French-Canadian’s UFC title, but GSP suffered a knee injury in training and will be out for several months. The UFC decided to make Diaz-Condit a bout for the interim title, meaning the winner will face St. Pierre when he returns to crown an undisputed champion.

UFC Primetime goes in-depth to show the fighters training and at home, helping viewers get a better understanding of who they really are outside of the Octagon.

MMATraining Take: This is going to be must-see-TV, as Diaz is a very non-public person, so what he allows the UFC to film for the show will be interesting. He obviously gave his approval for the show to happen, so maybe Diaz is trying to come out of his shell a little bit more. We will see.
